Do I have to categorise transactions myself?
No. Every row is matched to an emission factor automatically. Attach a receipt image to a row when you want a more precise match.
Can I import earlier years?
Yes. Import a multi-year archive from your accounting and the results are ready almost immediately.
What do I give my clients?
A link to your Carbon Footprint Statement: a public page with your emissions for the year. Issue one each year and your clients can follow your progress. The Statement records figures Sustifi calculated from your own data; nobody outside your company has reviewed them.
Where do your emission factors come from?
We use official and internationally recognized sources: UK DEFRA conversion factors, IEA and EEA electricity data, Finnish grid data from Fingrid (averaged over each billing period), Finnish Energy district heating statistics, GLEC Framework freight factors, Open Food Facts and Agribalyse food data, and EXIOBASE for spend-based estimates. Every factor is stored with its source.
How accurate are the calculations?
Activity-based entries (kilometers driven, kWh used) are the most precise; spend-based estimates carry more uncertainty. We always use the most precise method available, even when it gives a lower figure, and where we have to rely on assumptions we choose conservative ones. The method behind every figure is documented.
Can I change plans later?
Every plan is free during the beta, so there is nothing to change yet. When paid plans start, we'll tell you in advance and ask before charging anyone.
Is my data secure?
Your data is hosted in the EU (Ireland). Sensitive fields such as transaction descriptions, receipts and API keys are encrypted at rest, and you can export all your data or delete your account at any time.
