Everything you need to know about deleting your Sustifi account and what happens to your data.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Sign in to your Sustifi account
  2. Go to Profile settings
  3. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section
  4. Click "Delete Account"
  5. Read the warning carefully and confirm your decision
  6. Enter your password to confirm
  7. Click "Delete My Account" to proceed

What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Immediate Effects

  • Your account is deactivated immediately
  • Your public directory listing, Carbon Footprint Statements and badges are hidden from the public
  • Your data is kept for 30 days so that you can change your mind

30-Day Grace Period

  • Your data is kept for 30 days
  • You can restore your account at any time during this period by signing in
  • Your public listing, Statements and badges stay hidden until you restore the account
  • No one else can access your data during this period

After 30 Days - Permanent Deletion

  • Your account and the organisations only you own are permanently deleted with all their data and files
  • Account restoration is no longer possible
  • Only security and deletion log entries remain, without your user ID; their IP addresses and user agents are removed 90 days after each event

How to Restore Your Account

Changed your mind? You can restore your account within 30 days:

  1. Sign in with your original credentials within 30 days
  2. Choose "Restore My Account"
  3. Your account and all data are restored
  4. Your public listing, Carbon Footprint Statements and badges are visible again as they were

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to cancel a subscription before deleting?

No. All plans are currently free during the beta, so there is nothing to cancel or refund.

What happens to my Carbon Footprint Statements after deletion?

They are hidden from the public during the 30-day grace period and are visible again if you restore your account. At permanent deletion they are removed with the rest of your data.

Can I download my data before deleting?

Yes, you can export your data from Profile > Privacy > Export Data before deleting your account.

What data do you keep after deletion?

Only security and deletion log entries, without your user ID. Their IP addresses and user agents are removed 90 days after each event.

How long does permanent deletion take?

A daily cleanup permanently deletes the account once the 30 days have passed.

Can I delete specific data instead of my entire account?

You can manage some data in your profile settings, but for comprehensive data deletion, account deletion is the recommended approach.
